yeah. i'm not a big fan of the books. i've read them...only because they're horribly addicting. like, i HATE THE BOOKS; they're not genius, ground breaking pieces of literature, but for some retarded reason beyond my understanding, you can't STOP READING THEM.
i think im just biased because I don't like the books.
Speed racer got horrible reviews mostly because of its lack of story. I think it was excellent. First off, even though it's very popular in the kid audience, I think this movie had everything for all kinds. The action (lots of it), the color, the beautiful costumes....even the lines...they're totally reminiscent of what the old cartoons used to be. I'm not just talking about the speed racer cartoon, but ALL the old cartoons that used to play on tv. I think this movie just gives a straightforward, positive message, and I guarantee that every second is entertaining. Not to mention, the acting is great. It's the kind of movie where you know the outcome....but it still puts you on the edge of the seat because...i mean, you totally get into the movie. it's FUN! I got super hyped during the race scenes, hahaha. Sometimes, the clashing of all the color makes it hard to discern what's happening and all........but I think this movie is a great artistic achievement.
the books are freaking addicting man. srsly. i hate them, but i keep reading them. how every character develops EXCEPT the one that counts the most? and i still find myself waiting for the next book....
ughhh. twilight is so freaking retarded, but it's so freaking hard to stop reading. i really don't understand. the writing and the characterization and EVERYTHING EVER ABOUT IT is terrible. i would be downright embarrassed to take credit for writing it if it were me, but i can't put them down. i think that's most people's reactions, at least those with a real brain. if somebody could explain it reasonably they deserve some sort of award. it actually boggles my mind.
i'll probably see the movie anyway. or netflix it. *shame*
